Queensland to Assemble Boeing’s First Australian UAV

Queensland is poised to take another bold step in aerospace and advanced manufacturing with an historic opportunity to be the final production home for unmanned defence aircraft – the first military aircraft to be designed, engineered and manufactured in Australia in more than 50 years.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said a visionary new partnership with Boeing Australia means more high-skilled jobs, local supply opportunities and defence industry stimulus as Queensland continues to recover and grow from the COVID downturn.

Airbus showcases Tactilon Agnet collaboration solution

Airbus highlighted the features of its Tactilon Agnet mission-critical push-to-talk (MCPTT) solution at the IEEE 5G World Forum 2020. An Airbus Expert was one of the virtual forum’s presenters, in which he spoke about the communication and collaboration solution and how it could deliver faster, more reliable and better emergency response and public safety protection.

Boeing to Develop Next-generation Satellite System for U.S. Space Force

Boeing has received one of three development contracts to build a satellite payload prototype and develop a new secure, resilient satellite communications architecture for the U.S. Space Force’s Evolved Strategic SATCOM (ESS) program.

ESS will be a military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) system. It is a critical component of the U.S. Space Force’s strategy.

The initial ESS development contract is valued at $298 million. Contracts for the full ESS system are expected to be awarded in 2025.
