India to achieve USD 26 Billion Defence Industry by 2025: Raksha Mantri

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh has said the Government is committed to work towards achieving a USD 26 billion Defence industry by 2025. Addressing the second annual session of Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers here today, he said the Defence sector has been identified as one of the most prominent sectors under “Make in India” Initiative to realize USD 5 Trillion Economy by 2024.

BEL wins State Export Award

Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has won the Karnataka State Export Excellence Award for the year 2016-17. The award was received by Mr Anil Pant, GM (International Marketing)/CO, and Mr H P Srinivas Rao, AGM (International Marketing)/CO, from Mr B S Yediyurappa, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, at a ceremony held in Bengaluru on September 6, 2019.

BEL is laying enhanced thrust on Exports by expanding its geo-spatial reach and through partnerships. The Export order book of BEL was US $ 116.62 Million as on April 1, 2019.

UAC to participate in the TEKNOFEST ISTANBUL

United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) will take part in the TEKNOFEST ISTANBUL Aerospace and Technology Festival, that to be held on Sept. 17-22 at the Atatürk Airport.


The newest Russian medium-range commercial airliner MC-21-300, regional Superjet 100, Be-200ES multipurpose amphibious aircraft and supermaneuverable multirole Su-35C fighter have already arrived to the exhibition area. The aircraft will be demonstrated during flight program and some will be showcased on a static display. 

India, Singapore and Thailand begins maiden naval exercise

A maiden trilateral exercise, involving Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), Royal Thailand Navy (RTN) and Indian Navy (IN) has commenced at Port Blair on 16 Sep 19. The five-day-long exercise is aimed at bolstering the maritime inter-relationships amongst Singapore Thailand and India, and contribute significantly to enhancing the overall maritime security in the region. This would also strengthen the mutual confidence amongst three navies in terms of interoperability and development of a common understanding of procedures.
