4th Table Top Ex Under Colombo Security Conclave

Indian Coast Guard Region (North East) is conducting the fourth edition of Table top exercise under the aegis of Colombo Security Conclave in Kolkata from March 14 to 16, 2023. Apart from the Indian Coast Guard, representatives of member nations of Colombo Security Conclave - Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Mauritius – along with observer countries - Bangladesh and Seychelles - are participating in the exercise.

Workshop on Simplification of Weapons Trial

A one-day workshop on ‘Simplification of Trial Processes for Defence Equipment’ was organised under the aegis of Acquisition Wing of Ministry of Defence today at the Manekshaw Centre,New Delhi. In line with government’s vision of Make in India, the workshop was aimed at having a free  exchange of ideas among all stakeholders involved in the trials of defence equipment prior to their induction into the armed forces.

Consecutive Successful Tests of VSHORADS

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted two consecutive successful flight tests of Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) missile at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha on March 14, 2023. The flight tests were carried out from a ground-based man portable launcher against high speed unmanned aerial targets, mimicking approaching and receding aircraft. The targets were successfully intercepted, meeting all mission objectives.

6th Meeting of US-India on Carrier Tech

The 6th meeting of Joint Working Group on Aircraft Carrier Technology Co-operation (JWGACTC), constituted under the auspices of the Indo – US Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI), was organised in India from 27th February to 3rd March. An 11 member US delegation headed by RAdm James Downey, Programme Executive Officer (PEO), Carriers visited various defence/ industrial installations in Delhi and Kochi.

Boeing, Shield AI Set to Collaborate on Defence

Boeing and Shield AI, US based venture-backed defense technology company, have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore strategic collaboration in the areas of autonomous capabilities and artificial intelligence on current and future defense programs. The agreement, signed at the Air Force Association Warfare Symposium, will be managed by Boeing Phantom Works.
