Indian Army Kills five Pak supported Terrorists at LOC in Keran Sector

Indian Army launched a daring operation at the Line of Control and engaged Pak supported infiltrators in a Close Quarter Battle in heavy snow, neutralising the entire infiltrating batch of five. 

Four soldiers under the command of a Junior Commissioned Officer from one of the most professional Para SF Units were heli-dropped near the LoC after information on the infiltrators was received. An intense hand to hand battle ensued and all five terrorists were eliminated.

CDS ask for proposal on Air Defence Command

 

India may well see another tri-service command very soon. Following the creation of Special Force, Cyber and Space Command, the office of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) has started working on a proposal for creating Air Defence Command (ADC). 

India’s newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, on Wednesday, “directed that a proposal to create Air Defence Command be prepared by June 30, 2020.”

Indian Navy MiG-29 crashes in Goa; bird hit suspected

At about noon on 16 Nov 2019, a MiG-29K twin seater aircraft, on a routine training sortie, encountered a flock of birds after take off from the naval  Air Base at Dabolim Goa. The pilot observed that the left engine had flamed out and the right engine had caught fire. Attempts to recover the aircraft following the standard operating procedures were unsuccessful due to nature  of emergency. The pilot, showing huge presence of mind, pointed the aircraft away from populated areas and both pilots ejected safely. An inquiry to investigate the cause of accident has been instituted by the Navy.

India, Singapore and Thailand begins maiden naval exercise

A maiden trilateral exercise, involving Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), Royal Thailand Navy (RTN) and Indian Navy (IN) has commenced at Port Blair on 16 Sep 19. The five-day-long exercise is aimed at bolstering the maritime inter-relationships amongst Singapore Thailand and India, and contribute significantly to enhancing the overall maritime security in the region. This would also strengthen the mutual confidence amongst three navies in terms of interoperability and development of a common understanding of procedures.
 

Spanish Navy Ship Mendez Nunez at Goa

Spanish Navy Ship Mendez Nunez arrived at Mormugao Port on 01 Aug 19 at 0900 h . Commander Antonio Gonzalez del Tanago de la Strada , the Commanding Officer of the ship called on Rear Admiral Philipose Pynumootil, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area on the same day. 

A number of  activities between Indian Navy and the visiting Spanish warship are  planned during the ship's three day stay at Goa.  These include a  volleyball match, training visit to the ship and INS Hansa in addition to  reciprocal receptions.
