IDEX-21 - Russia to showcase cutting edge systems

JSC Rosoboronexport (part of Rostec State Corporation) will demonstrate the major newly-designed products of Russia’s defence industry and pieces of Russian military equipment, mostly demanded in the world arms market, at the largest international defence exhibition IDEX 2021, which will be held in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on February 21-25.

IDEX is extremely important as a platform for the exchange of experience and technologies, and as an international forum, offering unique opportunities in establishing new partnership links. 

Manned-Unmanned Teaming – New Era in air warfare

The world is witnessing the efficiency and lethality of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for the last two decades in various theatres of war. For the first time, in the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict, the manned and unmanned aircraft teamed together to bring a quick end to the long-standing dispute. This was the first time when a decisive victory is credited to a UAV system, in this case, Turkish made TB-2 of Turkish and Azeri air forces.

LAC disengagement - may lead to loss of territory

The sudden announcement of the disengagement process at the line of actual control (LAC) on February 11 was received with surprise and trepidation. Surprise for the Indian population in general and expected trepidation in strategic and security circles. The cautious and very restrained information released by the Indian defence minister Rajnath Singh in the parliament indicated a process of phased withdrawal with heavy equipment and guns being pulled back from the Pangong-Tso sector.

Production of Final Batch of LRSAM begins

Final production batch of Long Range Surface to Air Missiles (LRSAM), designed and developed by DRDO in collaboration with various industry partnersand integrated by BDL, was flagged off on 14 Feb 2021 at DRDL,APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, Hyderabad in the presence of Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary, DDR&D and Chairman DRDO and Rear Admiral V Rajasekhar, VSM Director, Defence Machine Design Establishment ( DMDE).

IIT, Delhi, Indian Navy signs MoU

Furthering the relationship between Indian Navy and IIT Delhi on research in underwater domain of Naval Electronic Systems, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed. The relationship dates back to 1970s and key technologies for Navy in the field of underwater electronics have been developed by the Centre for Applied Research in Electronics (CARE) at IIT Delhi since then. The research carried out at IIT Delhi has played an important role in the technological advances made by the Indian Navy.
