DRDO-L&T Joins Hands on AIP

Larsen & Toubro and DRDO signed a contract for realisation of two Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) System Modules for Kalvari Class of Submarines of the Indian Navy. The contract documents were exchanged between Shri Arun T Ramchandani, Executive Vice President and Head-L&T Defence and Shri. PT Rojatkar, Director - Naval Materials Research Laboratory (NMRL) in the presence of Shri J D Patil, Member of Executive Committee of Management and Advisor (Defence & Smart Technologies) to CEO & MD Larsen & Toubro Limited & Senior officials from NMRL and L&T.

Indian Defence Industries Showcases Capabilities to Thailand

The Department Defence Production, MoD organized a briefing and interaction meeting  with Thailand delegation led by  Deputy Chief of Air Staff, Royal Thai Air force (RTAF) – Air Marshal Piboon Vorravanpreecha in New Delhi on June 22, 2023 showcasing defense industries cutting-edge capabilities and fostering bilateral defense cooperation between two countries.

Navy's Integrated Simulator Complex ‘Dhruv’ Inaugurated

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Integrated Simulator Complex (ISC) ‘Dhruv’ at Southern Naval Command, Kochi on June 21, 2023. The ISC ‘Dhruv’ hosts modern state-of-the-art indigenously-built simulators which will significantly enhance practical training in the Indian Navy. These simulators are envisaged to give real-time experience on navigation, fleet operations and Naval tactics.

BEL Receives Orders Worth Rs. 5900 Crore

Bharat Electronics Limited has received Orders worth Rs. 5900 Crore as of today in the financial year 2023-24. Akash is an all-weather, point/area air-defence weapon system intended for defending vulnerable points/areas against threats emanating from low, medium and high altitudes. The system uses high mobility vehicles for mobile application.

The improvements incorporated include high altitude operation, simultaneous engagement of multiple threats over 360 degrees, missiles fitted with RF Seeker and reduced foot print. 

4th Survey Vessel Launched At L&T Yard

Sanshodhak’, the fourth of four ships of Survey Vessels (Large) (SVL) Project, being built by L&T/ GRSE for Indian Navy was launched on 13 Jun 23 at Kattupalli, Chennai. The chief guest of the Launch Ceremony was VAdm Adhir Arora, Chief Hydrographer to Government of India. In keeping with the Naval maritime tradition, Smt Tanvi Arora launched the ship to the chanting of invocation from Atharva Veda.

3rd ASW SWC Launched & Keel for 7th ASW laid

Anjadip’, the 3rd of eight ships of ASW Shallow Water Craft (SWC) Project being built by GRSE for Indian Navy, was launched at L&T, Kattupalli. The Launch Ceremony was presided over by VAdm R B Pandit, C-in-C (SFC). In keeping with the naval maritime tradition, Smt Priya Pandit launched the ship to the chanting of invocation from Atharva Veda. The ship has been named Anjadip to signify the strategic maritime importance accorded to the island of Anjadip, located off Karwar.

Deputy Air Chief Reviews Fighter Development Programmes

Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (DCAS) visited National Flight Test Centre, Aeronautical Development Agency and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Tejas Division to assess the progress of the indigenous combat aircraft projects. A keen Experimental Test Pilot himself, he has been driving the Atmanirbhar Bharat efforts of the Indian Air Force towards self-reliance in the development and manufacture of combat aircraft.
