First Block of FDI HN Frigate Laid

the first block of the first FDI HN frigate (Defense and  Intervention Frigate) for the Hellenic Navy was laid down in dry dock at Naval  Group’s shipyard in Lorient in presence of Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis,  Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff. This important step marks the beginning  of the assembly of the ship in the building hall.

Keel Laying of two OPV 2600 for Pak Navy

Celebrating the start of the construction of a second batch of two Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Pakistan Navy, the chief of staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi started the steel cutting of the second vessel at Damen Shipyards Galatí on October 12th 2022. The keel of the first vessel was laid shortly before. Ms Annelies Damen from the family company welcomed the Admiral and his company for a celebration of the continued co-operation.

Naval Group and IIT(Goa) Joins Hand

 

On 27 September 2022, Naval Group and the Indian Institute of Technology  Goa (IIT Goa) signed a collaboration agreement, in presence of the Indian  Ambassador H.E. Shri Jawed Ashraf and the Mayor of Brest, François  Cuillandre at Sea Tech Week®. The joint research to be conducted aims to  improve the analysis of data collected by underwater sensors, using neural  systems and Artificial Intelligence. 

Navantia delivers corvette AL-DIRIYAH to Saudi

Navantia delivered the second of the five corvettes built for the Royal Saudi Navy Forces (RSNF) in its shipyards at the Bay of Cadiz, the construction 547, named AL-DIRIYAH, in a ceremony held at its San Fernando facilities.

Hosted by Navantia’s Chairman and CEO, Ricardo Dominguez, the ceremony was attended by the commander of RSNF, Vice Admiral Fahad Bin Abdullah Al-Ghofaily; SAMI CEO, Mr. Walid Abukhaled; Spanish Secretary of State for Defense, Ms. María Amparo Valcarce; Spanish Navy Procurement Director, Admiral Aniceto Rosique and other local authorities.
