Russia’s latest weapons at World Defense Show 2026
February 2
JSC ROSOBORONEXPORT (part of the Rostec State Corporation) will present key innovations from the Russian defense industry at the World Defense Show 2026, the International Defense and Security Exhibition, which will be held from February 8 to 12, 2026, in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
ROSOBORONEXPORT is organizing Russia’s single exhibit at WDS 2026, where the largest domestic defense holding companies present their products, including the Almaz-Antey Air Defense Concern, ZALA, Rostec's High Precision Systems, the Kalashnikov Group and others.
"The World Defense Show is one of the largest arms and military equipment exhibitions in the world. For ROSOBORONEXPORT, it has become a platform for showcasing the latest developments in the Russian defense industry to partners in the Middle East and other key regions of our operations," - said Alexander Mikheev, Director General of ROSOBORONEXPORT JSC. - "In 2026, Riyadh will host the world premieres for Russian weapons developed on the basis of experience gained in battle. For the first time, we are showcasing the full-scale versions of the Sarma multiple rocket launcher (MRL) with new guided rockets, the BTR-22 APC, the Ballista remote-controlled weapon station, the RUS-PE loitering munition, the RPG-29M grenade launcher. We will hold public presentations of new products and negotiations on cooperation with countries friendly to Russia."
For the first time, ROSOBORONEXPORT will unveil the latest Sarma multiple rocket launcher in the outdoor display area of the exhibition. This 300mm MRL was developed by the Rostec State Corporation on the basis of operational experience with rocket artillery.
The Sarma is a next-generation MRL. It utilizes advanced Russian-made electronic components, which has significantly improved its performance compared to legacy MRLs, including a reduced ready-to-fire time and a better target engagement accuracy at ranges of up to 120 km.
One of the Sarma's key advantages is its mobility. The vehicle can be emplaced and displaced in just three minutes, and a full salvo of six missiles can be fired in 18 seconds. These are among the best indicators in the global MRL market segment, demonstrating the vehicle's survivability in counter-battery fire conditions. The vehicle can reach 95 km/h on roads. The Sarma's armored cabin protects the crew against mine and shell fragments, as well as 7.62mm armor-piercing bullets.
The MRL can fire the full range of 300mm unguided rockets for legacy MRL systems as well as three types of guided rockets – 9M543, 9M544, and 9M549 – which are being exhibited abroad for the first time at the World Defense Show 2026.
The Sarma is showcased at the exhibition as part of a single reconnaissance-and-strike system, serving as a fire weapon. Along with it, the Supercam S350 UAV, designed for target reconnaissance and designation, and the Planshet-A (Tablet-A) artillery fire control automation system mounted on the Atlet armored chassis are on display.
The BTR-22, a new Russian armored personnel carrier showcased in the outdoor display area of the World Defense Show 2026, will make its world premiere. This vehicle was developed based on the operational experience with wheeled armored vehicles. It features a new layout and significantly improved ballistic protection and blast resistance.
Depending on the needs of ROSOBORONEXPORT's customers, the BTR-22 is equipped with the BTR-82A’s crew compartment or a new Ballista remote-controlled weapon station fitted with the 30mm 2A42 cannon, which features a selectable rate of fire. The Ballista can also be equipped with two ATGMs, significantly increasing the APC's capability to destroy armored targets and protected emplacements.
The combat equipment presented at the exhibition can be transported to the deployment area by an IL-76MD-90A(E) military transport aircraft.
The latest Russian loitering munitions, small arms and close-combat weapons will be on display in ROSOBORONEXPORT’s exhibit located in Hall 3.
The RUS-PE, the first domestically produced containerized loitering munition developed and produced by the Kalashnikov Group, will be the major world premiere in the loitering munitions segment. It is available in two versions: with a 1- or 2-kg warhead. The RUS-PE is equipped with a seeker, enabling its fully autonomous employment. AI algorithms are used for target detection and identification.
ROSOBORONEXPORT will also showcase the KUB-2E loitering munition at its booth. It is integrated with the Skat-350M UAV, which performs reconnaissance, guidance and signal relay functions. The Lancet-E reconnaissance-and-strike system, consisting of the Z-16-E reconnaissance UAV and two ZALA-manufactured loitering munitions, will be on display as well.
The RPG-29M grenade launcher, a heavily upgraded version of the proven RPG-29 grenade launcher, will be unveiled for the first time at World Defense Show 2026. Drawing on operational experience, designers from Rostec State Corporation have reduced the launcher's weight by a third, installed a day/night thermal imaging sight with a fire control function and expanded the range of rounds it can fire.
In the small arms segment ROSOBORONEXPORT will showcase the new-generation Kalashnikov assault rifles – the AK-15 and AK-19 – and their shortened versions, the AK-15K, AK-15SK and AK-19K, the Lebedev RPL-20 light machine gun, and the GP-46 underbarrel grenade launcher.
During the exhibition ROSOBORONEXPORT will hold presentations of new products.
On February 9, at 11:30 a.m., the Сompany will present a reconnaissance-and-strike system with the Sarma MRL and at 12:00 p.m., the BTR-22 armored personnel carrier in the outdoor display area.
On February 10 at 11:00 a.m. the RUS-PE reconnaissance-and-strike system will be presented at its booth in Hall 3.
During the exhibition's business program ROSOBORONEXPORT will hold meetings and negotiations with delegations from the security, defense & law enforcement agencies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, other participating countries, and defense industry companies in the region. The Company will discuss the supply of Russian products and the expansion of technology partnerships aimed at the joint development and production of weapons and military equipment using Russia's unique technologies and expertise.
