General Rawat to visit Vietnam

General Bipin Rawat, Chief of the Army Staff is scheduled to visit Vietnam from 22 to 25 November 2018 on an official bilateral visit. During the visit, the Chief of the Army Staff led delegation will meet and interact with senior military hierarchy of Vietnam.  The Chief of the Army Staff shall also visit key military formations and establishments. The Army Chief is scheduled to meet and interact with General Ngo Xuan Lich, Defence Minister and Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff during the visit.

 

Singapore defence minister witness action at sea

Dr Ng Eng Hen, Defence Minister of the Republic of Singapore closely observed the two navies in action at sea during the ongoing 25th Edition of Singapore India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX 18) in the Bay of Bengal toady, 20 November 18.  Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of the Naval Staff of Indian Navy hosted Rear Admiral Lew Chuen Hong, Chief of Navy of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and officials from Defence Ministries of both the nations who accompanied the Hon. Defence Minister.

 

Honeywell launches UAV services in India

Honeywell is launching its commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Inspection and Data Analytics Service in India. Targeted at utilities and oil and gas companies, the new service is designed to help customers across the country improve and modernize critical structural inspections. Using UAVs to carry out this work and collate necessary data reduces the need for employees to conduct inspections manually, which in turn increases safety by eliminating many of the risks associated with dangerous structural examinations.

 

India signs contract for two homemade Russian Grigorovich class frigates

India and Russia, on November 20, signed a contract for two built-in-India Grigorovich class (Project 11356P/M) advanced guided missile frigates. The frigates will be constructed at the government owned Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL). This is a follow on contract to the last month’s deal for import of the two Russian built vessels of the same class. The Grigorovich class is an advanced Talwar class frigate.

Indian Navy operates six Talwar class ships.
