Japan confirms crash of F-35A

After the discovery of wreckage of the aircraft in the Pacific Ocean, Japan on Wednesday confirmed the crash of F-35A stealth fighter. The crash took place in northern Japan. The pilot of the aircraft is still missing.

In a news report, Japan’s public broadcast news network, NHK World said, “The Air Self-Defense Force says it determined that a crash had taken place after parts of the jet's tail were recovered from the area where the aircraft dropped off the radar on Tuesday evening.”

Mitra Shakti-VI concludes

The Sixth edition of the joint military training exercise between the Indian Army and the Sri Lankan Army, Exercise Mitra Shakti concluded today at Diyatalawa in Badulla district of Sri Lanka. The two week long training that had commenced on 26th March, came to an end with a grand Closing Ceremony that witnessed a smart and scintillating joint parade by the two contingents. It was reviewed by the Indian Army Contingent Commander that also had the trooping in of the national flags of the two friendly nations and a rousing display by the Sri Lankan Army band.  

Did the Russian UAV Orion-E fired its first operational shot?

In the last two decades of war, the Middle East has seen American Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) firing missiles and dropping bombs but reportedly, their Russian counterparts have also made its operational debut. According to a video, uploaded on April 4, on Agency Step News’ YouTube channel which claims the Russian UAV launched an air assault on a village north of Hama, a city in Western Syria.

Navy and CSIR signs MoU

The Indian Navy and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) today inked a MoU to undertake joint research and development of advanced technologies for the Indian Navy. This will be a collaborative arrangement between labs of CSIR, the Indian Navy and Indian industry.

Army discovers WWII US aircraft wreckage

A 12 member Indian Army patrol along with a police representative recovered wreckage of a World War II vintage US Air Force aircraft in Roing district of Arunachal Pradesh on 30 Mar 2019. The patrol located the aircraft debris covered by thick undergrowth and buried under five feet of snow. Based on the information received from local trekkers of Lower Dibang district through the police, a special patrol of Army was sent to locate the wreckage in a remote location, 30 kms from Roing.

3rd India-Australia Naval Exercise AUSINDEX-19 begins

The third edition of AUSINDEX, an acronym for Australia India Exercise is scheduled to commence with the arrival of HMAS Canberra (L02), a Landing Helicopter Dock, HMAS New Castle(06)  and HMAS Paramatta(154), both frigates; HMAS Collins, a conventional submarine and HMAS Success(OR 304), a Durance-class multi-product replenishment oiler at Visakhapatnam on 02 April 19.
