Successful First Flight of LCA Mk1A

The first Aircraft LA5033 of the Tejas Mk1A Aircraft series took to the skies from HAL facility in Bengaluru today. It was a successful sortie with a flying time of 18 minutes. “HAL achieved this significant production milestone with concurrent design & development amid major supply chain challenges in the global geo-political environment subsequent to the contract signature in February 2021”, said Mr. C. B. Ananthakrishnan, CMD, HAL.

Tonelero, the third Brazilian Scorpène® Launched

On March 27th, the third of the four Scorpène® submarines of the ProSub  program was launched at the Itaguaí Naval base, in presence of the Brazilian  President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and French President Emmanuel Macron.  The Tonelero has been built entirely in Brazil by Itaguaí Construções Navais  (ICN) thanks to years of successful technology transfer and partnership with  Naval Group.  

Indo-US Ambhibious HADR Ex Triumph 2024 Concluded

The Closing Ceremony of the Bilateral Tri-Service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Amphibious Exercise between India and US, Tiger Triumph 2024 was held onboard USS Somerset on 30 Mar 2024. The exercise signifies the robust strategic partnership between the two countries and was aimed towards sharing best practices and Standard Operating Procedures in undertaking multinational HADR operations.

Maiden Test of Indian Tank Engine

Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane presided over the maiden test-firing of India’s first indigenously-made 1500 Horsepower (HP) engine for Main Battle Tanks at BEML’s Engine division in Mysuru complex on March 20, 2024. The achievement heralds a new era in the country’s defence capabilities, showcasing the technological prowess and commitment to self-reliance in defence technologies.
