India is looking for 1770 futuristic tank

 As India is coming out of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, much-discussed and delayed projects are being revived by the Ministry of Defence. In the last fortnight, the Indian Army has come up with three request for information (RFI) for major programmes – 350 light tanks, 52 Calibre Mounted Artillery and 1770 tanks. When operational these weapon systems will substantially improve the firepower of the Indian Army.

India invites Swedish firms to invest in defence corridors

A webinar on India-Sweden Defence Industry Cooperation, with the theme ‘Capitalizing Opportunities for Growth and Security’, was organised on June 08, 2021. It was organised under the aegis of Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence through Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) and Swedish Security and Defence Industry (SOFF). V Adm Rajesh Pendharkar is new DG Naval Operations

Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, AVSM, VSM has assumed charge as Director General Naval Operations today, on 07 Jun 21. An alumnus of the National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune, he was commissioned into the Indian Navy in Jan 1987. He is a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Naval War College, Karanja, and Naval Command College, Newport, Rhode Island, USA.

ALH Mk III inducted in INS Dega

The induction ceremony of ‘322 Dega Flight’ was held in the presence of Vice Adm Ajendra Bahadur Singh, AVSM, VSM Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) with three indigenously built Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) MK III helicopters flying into Naval Air Station, INS Dega on  07 Jun 21. With the induction of these Maritime Reconnaissance and Coastal Security (MRCS) helicopters, the ENC got a major boost towards enhancing the capabilities of the force, in pursuit of the maritime interests of the nation.
