Historic Visit of Saudi Army Chief

In a historic and landmark visit, the Commander of the Royal Saudi Land Forces, Lieutenant General Fahd Bin Abdullah Mohammed Al-Mutair, arrived in India on 14 February 2022. This is the first ever visit by a serving Royal Saudi Land Forces Commander to India and marks a deepening bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries. General MM Naravane had visited Saudi Arabia in December 2020 in a historic visit which marked the first time that an Indian Army Chief had visited Saudi Arabia. The aim of the visit is to bolster bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries.

Korea Selects Boeing to Critical Defense Platforms

Boeing has received three performance based logistics (PBL) contracts from the Republic of Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) to manage sustainment of Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) F-15K fighter jets and Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft, and Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) CH-47 Chinook helicopters. The five-year contracts will improve aircraft availability by using performance data to inform logistics and supply chain management activities.  

127 Joins Garud Force

To mark the successful completion of training of 127 Air Force Special Forces Operatives of Garud Force, Maroon Beret Ceremonial Parade was held on 12 February 2022 at Garud Regimental Training Centre (GRTC), Air Force Station Chandinagar. Chief Guest, Air Vice Marshal PS Karkare, Senior Officer-in-Charge Administration, Headquarter Western Air Command reviewed the parade.

Wing Commander Trilok Sharma, Commandant GRTC received the Chief Guest and presented brief on various training aspects.  

Rubin Introduces More Capable BOSS patrol subs

Rubin, Russian submarine designer, has come up with the second version of BOSS (Border and Offshore Submersible Sentry) submersible patrol ship that combines the benefits of a submarine and a surface patrol ship.

It is the largest version with 72 m length and surface displacement about 1300 ton. Large dimensions bring more capabilities. New lines with wave-piercing bow and tumblehome hull  to reduce roll, makes the ship more stable weapon platform and reduces radar signature as well.

Naval Group Signs MoU for Indonesian Scorpene deal

Both partners are seeking to leverage each other's capabilities to meet the growing requirements of the Indonesian Navy.

Indonesia is acquiring two Scorpene submarines which would be built locally through a transfer of technology by Naval Group.

Both companies are leaders in their markets and confirm their willingness to further increase their cooperation to provide solutions to meet the needs of the Indonesian Navy but also by opening a joint R&D center involving other Indonesian companies.
