DAC approves 106 HAL's basic trainer for IAF

To strengthen the Armed Forces by relying on indigenous capability to take forward the initiative on ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) in its meeting held under the Chairmanship of Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh accorded approval for capital acquisitions of various platforms and equipment required by the Indian Armed Forces here today.  Proposals for an approximate cost of Rs 8,722.38 crore were approved.

BEL upgrades ATDS Maareech manufacturing facility

Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh, on Monday inaugurated through Video Conference the upgraded, state-of-the-art Maareech Integration Facility.

Mr Gowtama M V, Chairman & Managing Director, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), on the occasion gave a presentation to the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri on Advanced Torpedo Decoy System (ATDS) Maareech. This initiative by BEL is in accordance with the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, a self-reliant nation.

Defence Minister launches infrastructure modernisation projects

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh launched the initiatives of a number of modernisation and up-gradation of facilities as also new infrastructure creation by Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), through digital link here today, as part of the of the Atmanirbhar Week celebration of the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

India releases import imbargo list

In another bold initiative to reduce import dependence, India, on Sunday, announced its first import imbargo list of hundred and one items for period starting from December 2020 to December 2025.

“MoD will introduce import embargo on 101 items beyond given timeline to boost indigenisation of defence production,” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said while announcing on twitter.

Is WZ-10 a game changer in Ladakh?

On July 14, 2020 a report published on the front page of ChinaAviation news, announced the successful test of a new generation of air-to-air missile. The title, roughly transliterated (using an online translator) meant “Helan Mountain Vibrated with the Sounds”. The accompanying photograph indicated the moment the missile leaves the port outer hard point on the pylon of a WZ-10 helicopter.
