Naval Group Develops Robust Drone Management System

In September 2021, Naval Group successfully conducted operational  demonstrations of its drones’ mission management solution integrated with  the combat management system. The demonstrations took place at the Troia  naval base in Portugal as part of the European collaborative project COMPASS  2020 (Coordination of Maritime Assets for Persistent And Systematic  Surveillance) which aims at strengthening the European Union's maritime  surveillance capabilities.

Hanwha to showcase next-gen systems at AUSA 2021

Hanwha Defense will promote its sophisticated land defense systems at AUSA 2021 Annual Meeting & Exposition running from 11-13 October in Washington, D.C. Attending the largest land power exposition in North America, hosted by the Association of the United States Army, Hanwha Defense is set to showcase a range of flagship land defense platforms, including the K9 Thunder Self-Propelled Howitzer (SPH) and the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV).

India, Airbus Signs Contract for 56 C-295MW

Ministry of Defence (MoD) signed a contract with M/s Airbus Defence and Space, Spain for acquisition of 56 C-295MW transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force, on September 24, 2021. The MoD has also signed an Offset Contract with M/s Airbus Defence and Space through which M/s Airbus will discharge its offset obligations through direct purchase of eligible products and services from Indian Offset Partners.

Boeing, Missile Defense Agency Demonstrate Advanced Missile Defense Capability

Boeing and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) successfully demonstrated an advanced interceptor capability for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system, which defends the U.S. from rogue-state long-range intercontinental ballistic missile threats. The test included launching a Ground-Based Interceptor (GBI) into space with a three-stage booster in two-stage mode, allowing the GBI to release the kill vehicle earlier in flight, providing an earlier opportunity to intercept and defeat a missile threat.

Spain to launch first S-80 submarine

Come April 22, Spain will launch first S-80 class submarine in the esteemed presence of the King and Queen of Spain. The launch ceremony of S-81, the first submarine of S-80 class, will be presided by King Felipe VI, at Navantia shipyard in Cartagena (Murcia, Spain)

The S-81, which will be named ‘Isaac Peral', is the first submarine designed and built in Spain. This represents a strong commitment with national technological development, and thus, with national defence as well as with the international positioning of Spanish industrial sector.
