Nation Pays Homage to Kargil Warriors

The Nation is today paying tributes to the bravehearts of the Kargil war on the 23rd anniversary of India’s historic victory in 1999, which is celebrated as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ every year. To mark the day, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, Raksha Rajya Mantri Ajay Bhatt, Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar, Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari laid wreath at National War Memorial, New Delhi and paid homage to the fallen heroes who ensured India’s victory during the Kargil war of 1999.

MoD accords high priority to indigenisation of SDR

Ministry of Defence (MoD) has fast-tracked the indigenisation of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) with country’s premier R&D institutions viz. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur to fulfill the increasing demand by the Armed Forces across a broad spectrum of operations. The complete product life cycle management framework is necessary for security sensitive SDR technology and products. It involves indigenous self-sustainable design, development, manufacturing, testing/certification and maintenance ecosystem.

Airbus to deliver connectivity services by Zephyr

Airbus has launched a connectivity services business through the creation of a dedicated HAPS Services Business based around Zephyr, Airbus’ leading HAPS technology platform. This will help enable it to industrialise rapidly and begin serving a substantial total addressable market, providing low-latency connectivity services from the stratosphere for telecommunications and Earth observation applications. The new business is a subsidiary of Airbus Defence and Space.

Q1 Results - BEL registers a growth of 96% in Turnover (YOY)

Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has achieved a Turnover of Rs.3063.58 Cr, during the 1st quarter of FY 2022-23 against the Turnover of Rs.1564.34 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Profit Before Tax (PBT) during the 1st quarter of FY 2022-23 stood at Rs.578.10 Cr against the Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs.15.17 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.
