GRSE Pays Interim Dividend of Rs 90.73 Cr

Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), a premier Warship building Company under the administrative control of Ministry of Defence has paid an interim dividend of Rs 90.73 Crores for FY 2023-24 to its shareholders. The Interim Dividend Cheque amounting to Rs. 67.59 Crore as the government’s share was handed over to  Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, by Cmde P R Hari, IN (Retd), Chairman & Managing Director of GRSE Ltd. Kolkata on March 1 in New Delhi in the presence of Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane.  

MoD Signs Five Major Capital Acquisition Contracts

As part of ‘Aatmanirbharta in Defence’ and to further boost Make-in-India initiative, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) signed five major capital acquisition contracts worth Rs 39,125.39 crore on March 1, 2024 in New Delhi. The Contracts were exchanged in the presence of Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane, under whose guidance these deals fructified.

Balakot Strike – Was Mirage 2000 the best option?

On February 26, India celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Balakot Air Strike where Indian Air Force (IAF) Mirage 2000 destroyed a major terrorist training centre of Jaish-e-Mohammed(JeM) at Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province some 50 km from the line of control(LoC) and 80 km from the Uri town in Jammu and Kashmir. The strike was carried out by the French-made multi-role fighter jet using five SPICE 2000, a 900 kg/2000 lbs, Israeli precision guided bomb.

New Digital Flight Controller For LCA Tejas Tested

In a significant development towards Tejas Mk1A programme, the Digital Fly by Wire Flight Control Computer (DFCC) was integrated in prototype LSP7 and successfully flown on 19th Feb 2024. DFCC has been indigenously developed by the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru for the Tejas - Mk1A. Digital Fly by Wire Flight Control Computer features Quadraplex Power PC based Processor, high speed autonomous state machine based I/O controller, enhanced computational throughput and complex on-board software complied to DO178C level- A safety requirements.

DAC clears capital acquisition proposals worth Rs 84,560 crore

The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), under the chairmanship of defence minister Rajnath Singh, accorded approval for Acceptance of Necessity (AoNs) for various capital acquisition proposals amounting to Rs 84,560 crore. In the true spirit of ‘Aatmanirbharta’, the approvals accorded on February 16, 2024 lay special emphasis on procurement of various equipment from Indian vendors.
