Rostec to deliver first Mi-26T2 to Russia

Russian Helicopters holding company (part of Rostec) and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations agreed on the delivery of the first heavy Mi-26T2 helicopter to the department's needs. The contract was signed during theInternational Military-Technical Forum ARMY-2020.

Mi-26T2 is an upgraded version of the Mi-26T heavy transport helicopter. It has received modern avionics, enabling operations at any time of the day, in adverse weather conditions and overterrain that lacks landmarks for orientation. The upgrade has also allowed reducing crew to 3 persons. 

Indian Army organises seminar on disruptive technology

Warfare has undergone a sea change due to the emergence of new domains of warfare and disruptive technologies. There is a technology tsunami which is underway and it will compel militaries to reorganize and re-structure to fight future wars. In order to address various aspects of the impact of disruptive technologies, a seminar was organized on the “Impact of Disruptive Technologies on Our Fighting Philosophy in Future Conflicts” as part of the Defense and Strategy Seminar 2020 at Army War College, Mhow from 24-25 August 2020.

DRDO identifies 108 Systems for Atmanirbhar Bharat

Responding to the clarion call given by Hon’ble Prime Minister for “Atmanirbhar Bharat”, the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has taken several initiatives to strengthen the indigenous defence ecosystem.  Towards this, A DRDO delegation met with Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh today to apprise him about 108 systems and subsystems which have been identified for designing and development by the Indian Industry only.

Godrej & Boyce and OFB together in automated Pinaka rocket assembly line

Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej group announced that its business unit Godrej Tooling had partnered with the Ordnance Factory Chandrapur, Maharashtra to conceptualise and develop an indigenous Automated Assembly line for production of Pinaka Rockets, that was inaugurated by the Hon’ble defence Minister Rajnath Singh and dedicated to the nation on August 10, 2020.
